Paying for your WISP Plus contribution can be done on the SSS Online portal, so you don’t have to go anywhere.
We’ve outlined the steps in two which are: generate a Payment Reference Number and then, proceed with processing the payment.
1. Generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN)
You can generate a PRN by going to PAYMENT REFERENCE NUMBER (PRN) > Contributions > Generate PRN.
Select the Generate PRN button to give you this screen:
- Select your Membership Type
- Ensure that the “WISP Plus Only” box is checked
- Provide the amount you want to contribute
- Hit the Submit Request button
The PRN will then be shown to you on the screen. Just click the Back to PRN list button.
2. Pay your contribution
Once you’re back on the Payment Reference Number page, there should now be an entry for the PRN you created.
Just click the PAY button on the right-hand side, which will then provide you an option to choose the payment method.
As of the post date, you can only select Billeroo. Once you’ve selected Billeroo, click the Continue button. This will then show you your details and the amount you’re paying for. Just click Next to proceed.
You will be provided with the Transaction details and payment options on the next page. The payment options available are the following:
- Bank transfer via Instapay
- Credit card / Debit card
- Over-the-counter using MLhuillier ePay
- eWallet using GCash or Grabpay
Note: There’s a Php28 convenience fee.
Once you’ve selected your preferred payment option, it will then take you to the merchant page where you will need to provide your details based on the option you’ve selected.
And that’s it! Payments for SSS are reflected instantaneously, so you will see it reflected in your account.

Though it’s good that there’s an option for us to make a payment directly via the SSS Portal, what I don’t like about it is the 28-peso convenience fee even if you select GCash as the mode of payment. The actual convenience fee if you make the payment via the GCash app is just 8 pesos. I’ll post another guide on how to pay SSS WISP Plus contributions via GCash soon.
