It’s that time of the month again wherein your Poor Pinoy Investor reveals his current stock portfolio. This isn’t to brag, but rather to be transparent and remain true to the actual purpose of this blog: share investing experience that is relatable to small Pinoy investors. At the same time, provide information that hopefully helps others with their own investing journey (especially those small-time and newbie Pinoy investors).
Portfolio Performance
June ended up with my highest monthly performance for this year which sits at 4.93% while my portfolio grew by 12.82% this year.
Just look at that! The average annual performance of the US stock market is 10% and so far, we’ve managed to go over that average for this year.
Portfolio Details
Deposits for the month
I deposited $70 last month (June 22) into my eToro account while the total deposit I’ve made since I started is $1,711.
Dividends earned
I have received net dividends of $3.98 for the month of June. They came from JNJ, MSFT, O, SCHD, and TROW.
Current Growth
If you do the math, my money has grown by $190.11 in terms of capital appreciation and dividends combined since I started. Not much but so far on track.
Portfolio Allocation
SCHD still holds the highest percentage of investment made in my portfolio. Though it says in the image that it’s 23.18%, the actual allocation is really 25.16% among the stocks/ETFs I own. The reason why it’s showing a different number is that eToro includes the remaining cash balance in their computation.
As mentioned in my previous portfolio update, my target is to allocate 25% each to SCHD and VOO. So far, we’ve accomplished that with SCHD while we’re just less than 2% away from completing our target with VOO. The same goes with QQQ wherein we’re looking into having 11% allocated to it which at the moment is already at 10.57%
Once I’ve hit the targets for VOO and QQQ, I’ll work on the individual stocks.
Portfolio Comparison to the S&P 500 Index
The year-to-date return for the S&P 500 is 16.89%. VOO (which tracks the S&P 500 Index) is at 16.85%. So although I can brag about my 12.82% YTD return, it’s below the S&P 500 YTD.
SCHD remains the main reason for the 4% gap between my portfolio and that of the S&P 500. SCHD’s YTD return is at -2.15%, hence, dragging down my overall portfolio performance.
Am I worried though? Not really. The main reason for the rally of the US Stock market is due to tech stocks. Since SCHD focuses on dividends, you won’t see the major tech companies in their list of holdings.
Kuya Well’s Corner
Konti na lang and we’ll be seeing a $2K portfolio. If the current market uptrend continues, baka mahit na yung $2K without me adding a fresh deposit yet. But ff course, magdedeposit pa rin tayo this July since every month may specific amount akong nakaset na ilalaan from my budget.
Don’t worry, I am actually planning on showing you kung magkano ang nilalagay ko sa investments. So makikita nyo soon kung magkano napupunta sa Emergency Funds, Stock market, MP2, Crytocurrency and Mutual Fund.
