It’s that time of the month again when you get to see how your favorite Poor Pinoy Investor’s US stock portfolio fares in the current market environment.

Portfolio Performance for August

My portfolio took a beating in the month of August. It was down by 2.27% which was still a good feat since it was at one point last month down by around 5%. Surprisingly, on the last day of August, my account fought back a bit.

YTD Performance

As seen in the image above, my portfolio is up by 13.38% year-to-date. Comparing it to the S&P 500’s performance which is at 17.61%, mine is 4.23% lower than that of the S&P 500.

Portfolio Details

Deposits made

I added $90 to my account which brings my total investment to $1891.

Dividends earned

Net dividends earned for the month of August is $0.9 with the following breakdown:

  • O – $0.15
  • PG – $0.2
  • AAPL – $0.16
  • SBUX – $0.39

Current Growth

My account has grown by 9.99% since its inception.

Portfolio Allocation

I am close to realizing my target allocation for both SCHD and VOO. They’re both currently sitting at 23.86%. Once done, I’ll look into making possible adjustments to the rest or just maintain them.

Kuya Well’s Corner

Though my portfolio is currently sitting at $2095.7, there was a time last month when it dipped down below the $2K mark. Pero dahil focus lang tayo sa goal, bumili ako during the dip and it paid off.

I still have a $148 reserve in my eToro account which is just there for me to buy the dips. September is the month when the US stock market is usually in the red, so it’s best to be prepared.

Overall, long term para sa akin ang investment sa stock market, so hindi tayo matitibag.
