The Social Security System (SSS) has officially opened its Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) for members affected by Typhoon Tino, following the declaration of a state of calamity in Cebu Province. If you’re an SSS member living or working in the affected areas, here’s what you need to know about the application period, eligibility, and requirements.
Coverage Areas in Cebu
As of the latest announcement, the entire Cebu Province has been placed under a state of calamity by executive order.
Some of the localities that have reported significant impact include:
- Cebu City
- Mandaue City
- Talisay City
- Compostela
- Danao
Note: This list is not exhaustive. The full list of affected cities and municipalities may grow as more LGUs submit assessments and the disaster response evolves. Applicants are strongly encouraged to verify their specific locality’s declaration status with their LGU or the Social Security System (SSS) before applying.
When Can You Apply for the SSS Calamity Loan?
The SSS Calamity Loan Application Period typically opens immediately after the declaration of a state of calamity and remains available for up to 3 months.
While the official start date for Cebu’s CLAP has yet to be confirmed, it’s expected to open within the week of the declaration. Stay tuned to SSS announcements on their official Facebook page or website for the exact schedule.
