ATRAM Trust Corporation has sent an official notice to clients: trust fees on six of its popular feeder funds are increasing starting September 14, 2026. If you’re invested in any of these funds through Seedbox, Maya (GInvest), or directly with ATRAM, this affects how much you’re paying every year to stay invested.
Here’s everything you need to know, in plain English.
What exactly is changing?
The Board of Directors of ATRAM Trust Corporation approved amendments to the Plan Rules (Declaration of Trust) of several ATRAM Feeder Funds. BSP has already been notified of the changes. The amendments cover two things: higher trust fees for the A Unit Class, and some regulatory and disclosure updates.
The new trust fees (A Unit Class)
The A Unit Class is the standard unit class available to regular individual and juridical (company) investors, meaning this is the version of the fund most ordinary Filipino investors are actually holding.
Here’s the full breakdown of the fee changes:
| Fund | Old Trust Fee | New Trust Fee |
|---|---|---|
| ATRAM Global Consumer Trends Feeder Fund | 1.20% p.a. | 1.50% p.a. |
| ATRAM Global Equity Opportunity Feeder Fund | 1.20% p.a. | 1.50% p.a. |
| ATRAM Global Financials Feeder Fund | 1.20% p.a. | 1.50% p.a. |
| ATRAM Global Health Care Feeder Fund | 1.20% p.a. | 1.50% p.a. |
| ATRAM Global Infra Equity Feeder Fund | 1.20% p.a. | 1.50% p.a. |
| ATRAM Global Technology Feeder Fund | 1.15% p.a. | 1.50% p.a. |
Most funds are getting a 0.30 percentage point increase, except the Global Technology Feeder Fund, which is getting a slightly bigger jump of 0.35 percentage points (from 1.15% to 1.50%).
To put this in perspective: if you have ₱100,000 invested in the ATRAM Global Technology Feeder Fund, the trust fee portion alone goes from around ₱1,150 per year to ₱1,500 per year. That’s not counting the underlying target fund’s own fees, since these are feeder funds with two layers of charges.
Why is ATRAM increasing fees?
ATRAM’s letter frames it as supporting “continued delivery of a high standard of investment management and client servicing.” In plain terms, this is a straightforward fee hike, not something tied to a specific new feature or service being added.
What’s the BSP Circular No. 1234 part about?
Separately from the fee increase, ATRAM is also updating its Plan Rules to align with BSP Circular No. 1234, which the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas issued in May 2026. This circular raised the single-issuer exposure limit for UITFs invested in exchange-listed equity securities from 15% to 20%. In short, it gives fund managers a bit more flexibility to concentrate a larger portion of the fund in one company’s stock, as long as it’s exchange-traded.
This change itself doesn’t increase your fees, but it’s part of the same batch of amendments. ATRAM also mentioned it’s cleaning up disclosures related to the Target Fund Investment Manager, third-party custodian fees, benchmark provisions, and valuation methodology.
Do you need to do anything?
According to ATRAM, no action is required. The new fees will simply apply automatically starting September 14, 2026.
However, if you feel the new fee structure no longer fits your investment goals, ATRAM is giving investors a cooling-off period until September 14, 2026 to redeem your investment in the affected fund(s) before the new fees kick in, subject to the usual redemption procedures (cut-off times, settlement dates, etc. depending on your fund and platform).
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fee increase apply to all ATRAM funds?
No. Based on the notice, it specifically applies to the A Unit Class of six global feeder funds: Consumer Trends, Equity Opportunity, Financials, Health Care, Infra Equity, and Technology. If you’re holding a different unit class or a different ATRAM fund (like a peso money market or bond fund), this particular notice may not apply to you. Check your own account notice or fund prospectus to confirm.
Will I be charged the new fee automatically?
Yes. Trust fees like this are usually deducted daily from the fund’s net asset value, not billed to you separately. You won’t see a separate charge; it just means your fund’s returns will be slightly lower going forward because more is being taken out for management.
What happens if I redeem before September 14, 2026?
You’d be redeeming under the current terms (including current fees and any applicable redemption conditions for your fund). Just make sure to check your specific fund’s redemption cut-off time and settlement period before you decide, since these vary by fund and by platform (Seedbox, GInvest/Maya, etc.).
Is a 0.30% to 0.35% fee increase a big deal?
It depends on your investment horizon and amount. On a small amount over a short period, the peso impact is small. But if you’re investing long-term with a sizable amount, higher annual fees compound over time and can meaningfully eat into your returns. It’s worth comparing against similar feeder funds from other providers before deciding whether to stay or redeem.
Where can I read the full official notice?
ATRAM directed clients with questions to the Maya Help Center if they invested through Maya/GInvest. If you invested directly through ATRAM or Seedbox, you can reach out to ATRAM’s client service email for UITF concerns.
Blogger’s Corner
