Opening a Pag-IBIG MP2 account is still one of the easiest ways for Filipinos to start investing in a government-backed savings program. The enrollment process remains fully online through the official Pag-IBIG Fund MP2 portal, and you can complete it in just a few minutes as long as your regular Pag-IBIG membership is active.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to create your MP2 account step by step. The screenshots below reflect the current enrollment process as of 2026, so you can follow along without confusion.
If you’ve been thinking about investing in MP2 but haven’t started yet, this is your sign
Pag-IBIG Mp2 account eligibility
- Active Pag-IBIG Fund members who have made at least one savings contribution within the past six months.
- Former members who have already retired or are receiving a pension and have additional sources of monthly income. They must have made at least 24 monthly savings contributions prior to their retirement.
- Individuals who were born Filipino (but have since become citizens of another country) and have reacquired their Filipino citizenship through the Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003, provided that they have made at least 24 monthly savings contributions before their permanent migration to another country.

Steps on how to create a Pag-IBIG MP2 Account
1. Go to the Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings Enrollment page and fill out the required details:
- Pag-IBIG MID number
- Last Name
- First Name
- Date of Birth (mm/dd/yyyy)

2. The next page will show you your Pag-IBIG account details. Click the Continue button to proceed with the creation of your MP2 account.
3. The following page will ask you the following:
- Desired monthly contribution – you can put in any amount as long as it’s 500 and above. Once you have created an MP2 account, you don’t really need to contribute on a monthly basis nor do you need to put the exact amount that you mentioned here.
- Preferred dividend payout – It’s best to select “Five-Year” so that the dividends you earn get compounded. If you have the desire to withdraw your dividends on a yearly basis, then select “Annually”.
- Mode of Payment – Just select “OTC” or “Thru any accredited Pag-IBIG collecting Partners”. But if you want your employer to deduct it from your salary, then select “Salary Deduction”.
- Source of Funds – Just choose how you’re going to fund your MP2 account. You can simply select “Employment Income”.

4. You will be given a PDF file but if you notice, you’ll see your MP2 account number on that file. That is already a valid MP2 account number that you can use.

5. You can start your Pag-IBIG MP2 contribution right away using the MP2 account number you got. You can make the payment via the Virtual Pag-IBIG website. That way, you can also verify that the MP2 account number is correct.
However, if you opted for “Salary Deduction” and you really want your employer to deduct your Pag-IBIG contribution from your salary each month, then, you need to print the PDF file and give that to your company HR or Compensation and Benefits department. Take note that unless you advise them otherwise, they will deduct whatever amount you put in the “desired monthly contribution” from your monthly salary.
Important Reminders Before and After Enrollment
- You must have at least one recent regular (P1) contribution to qualify for MP2.
- The minimum contribution per deposit is ₱500.
- Your MP2 account will only appear inside Virtual Pag-IBIG after your first contribution posts.
- There is no required fixed monthly amount. You can contribute anytime and any amount (as long as it’s at least ₱500).
- You can open multiple MP2 accounts if you want to separate goals.
If your MP2 account doesn’t show up immediately, don’t panic. Posting usually takes a few business days depending on your payment channel.

Pag-IBIG MP2 remains one of the simplest and most beginner-friendly investment options available to Filipinos today. There’s no complicated setup, no brokerage account, and no exposure to market volatility like stocks or crypto.
But remember: creating the account is just the first step. The real benefit comes from actually funding it consistently.

How to avail mp2?
Pwwde po ba aq mag avail ng mp2?
As long as nagfall kayo dun sa nakalagay na eligibility, yes, pwede kayong magcreate ng MP2 account.
Sir:
I have done, filled the form but it says they are fixing the system.
Thank you po
Ang current guideline lang is that you need to be an active member (sa mga non-pensioners) before you can save in MP2.
In addition, pwedeng magcreate ng multiple active MP2 accounts.
Paano po ba uli maging active sa pag ibig fund??? last 2016 pa po ang last work ko till now di na po nakapagwork gusto ko po sana mag mp2 at diko din alam kung p1 kung meron po ako… Salamat po
Since employed ka dati, dapat meron yan.
Magrequest ka ng change of membership category from Employed to Voluntary/Self-Employed sa Pag-IBIG. Fill out mo yung Member’s Change of Information form, then bigay mo sa Pag-IBIG branch. Bring a valid ID. Once machange status, maghulog ka ng 200 sa P1 to reactivate it.
Do i need to go to my nearest branch pag-ibig office to enroll mp2 and pay?
If you create an MP2 account online, following the instructions above, you don’t need to go to the branch anymore. When paying for MP2 contributions, you only need the MP2 acct number that you will see after the account creation.
At di na nkapagbayad.
Check mo Virtual Pag-IBIG account, makikita mo dun yung info.
Sa pagreactivate naman ng Pag-IBIG account, kung employed pa ang lumalabas na status pag check mo sa Virtual Pag-IBIG, kelangan mo magrequest to change it to “self-employed”. Then hulugan mo ng 200 pesos para mareactivate. If outside of the Philippines kayo currently, you may need to go to POLO or Consulate offices para sa update ng status pero I suggest i-contact mo muna Pag-IBIG via Chat or email para sigurado.
