I’m a member of a certain Facebook MP2 sharing group and I’ve seen a lot of similar questions being raised so I’ve decided to create this post. Hopefully, this helps you out if you’re in a similar boat and have questions that need answers.

Pag-IBIG MP2 FAQs
Can I create multiple MP2 accounts?
Yes, you can create unlimited MP2 accounts.
I just created an MP2 account but it’s not showing in Virtual Pag-IBIG
Only those with contributions will show up in Virtual Pag-IBIG. Kung walang hulog, di sya lalabas. And take note that it takes 3-7 working days for contributions to be posted, so ganong timeframe din magshow ang MP2 account mo.
I made the mistake of putting 5000 instead of 500 for the monthly contribution when creating the MP2 account, how do I correct it?
You can’t change the information you already provided but you can actually ignore the amount.
However, kung ang balak mo is salary deduction, either advise your Payroll of the correct amount to deduct or gawa ka na lang ng bago na tama yung amount for salary deduction.
Do I really need to contribute monthly?
MP2 is a voluntary savings program, so the answer is NO. Pwede kang maghulog ng magkano (minimum of 500) at anytime na gusto mo. Pwedeng one time lang yan for the whole 5 years or pwede kang maghulog once in a while if you want.
Can I pay my contribution via salary deduction?
Yes, pwede pero nakadepende sa company mo. Since MP2 is voluntary, some companies may not accommodate salary deductions for MP2. Dagdag trabaho kasi sa kanila.
Also, take note na may possibility na may specific schedule sila ng paghuhulog so baka may delay lagi.
It’s my first time making a contribution on my MP2 account, do I need to go to the Pag-IBIG branch?
No, di mo kelangang pumunta ng Pag-IBIG branch. Pwede kang maghulog agad online if you want.
I just created my MP2 account online, do I need to submit the form?
You don’t need to submit the form. As long as there’s a Pag-IBIG MP2 account number, good to go na yan. Pwede mo na hulugan agad. I-save mo na lang yung pdf file as a reference.
But if you opted for salary deduction, you need to print that and give a copy to your company HR/Payroll.
My P1 is inactive, can I still join MP2?
Pag-IBIG FAQs state that you need to be an active Pag-IBIG member (not unless you’re a former member who retired and had at least 24 months of contributions prior to retirement). Yung active status ni Pag-IBIG naman is kelangan mo lang ng isang hulog sa P1 within the last 6 months. So just make one contribution as Voluntary or Self-employed, and you can immediately create an MP2 account.
What’s the difference between a 5-year end term and an Annual dividend payout?
5-year end term – makukuha mo lang lahat (contributions + dividends) upon maturity.
Your contributions can only be withdrawn upon maturity.
I want to change my dividend payout from Annual to a 5-year end term
It’s not possible to switch the dividend payout option of your current MP2 account. So here are the options:
Scenario 1: If kakacreate lang at di pa nahuhulugan, gawa ka na lang ng bago na 5-year end term
Scenario 2: Kung may hulog na yung MP2 account na naka Annual payout, you can opt to stop adding contributions then just create a new MP2 account na 5-year end term. Tapos kunin mo na lang yearly yung dividends nung naka Annual payout tapos i-reinvest mo sa bago if you want.
- Now what if kung maliit lang ang dividends nung Annual MP2 acct at mas magastos/hassle magfile ng claim? – Then, pwede mong wag na muna kunin yung dividends agad.
For the Annual dividend payout, can I opt not to withdraw it immediately?
Yes, you can just leave it sa account mo. Ginagawa to nung mga nagkamali ng napili or dahil masyado maliit yung dividends para mag-effort na pumunta ng Pag-IBIG branch. Di sya mafoforfeit kaso di sya masasama sa compounding.
Tapos kung mas malaki na yung total dividends the following year, you can file a withdrawal ng combined dividends.
How long does it take to process MP2-related (dividend withdrawal, maturity) claims?
It may take up to 21 working days which is the same as other provident claims.
Can I withdraw my contributions before the 5-year maturity?
Yes, you can request for a pre-termination but subject to approval and there are specific reasons na tinatanggap.
It’s not like a bank that you can withdraw immediately if may emergency. This is why before you invest in MP2 or any other investment vehicle, make sure na may emergency funds ka.
That’s it for now. If you have other questions, feel free to leave them in the comment section.
I’ve been an active member of MP2 for a while already, di ko lng matandaan if I chose annual or 5 year dividend payout, paano ko ba ito malalaman?
Check mo yung pdf kung nasave mo sya. Dun mo lang makikita. Kung wala ka copy, you need to contact Pag-IBIG directly kasi di yan makikita sa Virtual Pag-IBIG website at all.
