Latest changes to Maya Savings’ Interest Rates (August 2023)

Maya has updated their requirements on how to earn interest up to 10% per annum.

What’s the latest change?

Maya has made it easier to reach the levels of boosted earnings.

Breakdown of how to earn up to 10% p.a. interest

  • 3.5% base interest
  • +1.5% when you spend at least Php 250 on Airtime Load, Bills Payment, Pay via Maya Card/QR/Mobile Number, or Checkout with Maya
  • +1% when you spend a total of Php1000 using your Maya Card/QR/Mobile Number, or Checkout with Maya
  • +2% when you have a total spend of 25K using your Maya Card/QR/Mobile Number, or Checkout with Maya
  • +2% if total spending reaches 35K using your Maya Card/QR/Mobile Number, or Checkout with Maya

Note: the bonus interest rate is applicable only to your Savings balance of up to 100K.

So how does this differ from the earlier tiering?

With just a P250 bill payment (for example: a water bill), you can boost your interest per annum to 5%. And with just 1K spent using a QR code, you can immediately hit 6%.

How long does the promo last?

The interest promo is good until August 31, 2023.
