Updated (April 25)
The SIM number registration has been extended for another 90 days. This means that you have until July 25, 2023 to get your SIM number registered.
There are 2 days left before the sim number registration deadline which is on April 26, 2023.
Lahat ba ay nakapagparehistro na? And if you haven’t done it yet, what are you waiting for?
What happens if you fail to register your SIM number?
Failing to register your SIM number will result in the deactivation of the said number.
And if you’re thinking that you can just simply buy a new SIM card and replace your old number, well, think again. There is a myriad of problems that you’ll encounter if your number gets deactivated.
Issues that you’ll encounter if your SIM number gets deactivated
If your SIM number gets deactivated, you can no longer use it. This means that you won’t be able to:
- make and receive calls
- send and receive SMS
- use it for mobile data
You might say, “But I don’t use my number to call and text.” Sure, but don’t forget that you’re using it to receive messages. And one message that you tend to receive is OTP. So if you fail to receive your OTP, you will have issues with the following apps:
- banking- BDO, BPI, Seabank, CIMB, Metrobank, GoTyme
- e-wallet – GCash, Maya, CoinsPH
- online shopping – Shopee, Lazada
- online delivery – foodpanda, Grab
- trading platforms – eToro
- and the list goes on
And believe me, it’s not easy updating contact numbers on those apps. On most of them, you will need to contact customer service and present proofs that you own those accounts.
Where to register SIM number?
Click on your Telco provider to open the registration website.
Blogger’s Note
It is imperative that you register your SIM number before the deadline ends.
Regardless kung galit ka sa process or sa batas requiring it, the fact is, you need to get it done. NOW!
Wag mo na paabutin pa sa mismong deadline. Pag nagka-issue ang mga registration sites ng mga Telco dahil sa high volume, ikaw rin ang kawawa. Just register and bitch about it later.
