The Social Security System (SSS) is rolling out something new for its members: the MySSS Card. This card isn’t just an identification card—it also works as a UnionBank Visa debit card.
That means you can use it to receive SSS benefits directly, withdraw cash from ATMs, and even shop online or in stores that accept Visa.
If you’ve ever had problems waiting for checks or looking for safer ways to receive your SSS loans or benefits, this new card is designed to make the process easier.

What is the MySSS Card?
The MySSS Card is a 2-in-1 card that combines your official SSS ID with a UnionBank Visa debit card.
With this, you don’t just get an ID—you also get a ready bank account where your benefits and loans can be credited.
Here’s what it offers:
- Serves as your official SSS ID.
- Functions as a UnionBank Visa debit card.
- Direct crediting of SSS benefits and loans.
- ATM withdrawals nationwide.
- Cashless payments in physical stores and online.
Is the MySSS Card Already Available?
As of now, the MySSS Card has been officially announced by SSS and UnionBank, but it is not yet available to the general public.
The confirmed details so far:
- You will be able to apply for the card via the UnionBank Online app.
- Rollout is expected soon, but no official launch date has been given.
- Once available, members can start requesting the card and link it to their SSS records for smoother transactions.
Why This Matters for Members
For many Filipinos, receiving SSS benefits or loans usually involves delays or physical checks. With the MySSS Card, the process becomes more digital, faster, and secure.
This move is also part of SSS’s goal to push for financial inclusion, especially for members who don’t yet have a bank account.
Blogger’s Corner
This new MySSS Card looks very promising, especially since it doubles as both an ID and a debit card. The only catch for now is that it’s still not rolled out. Many members, including myself, are waiting for updates on when we can actually apply.
If you’re interested, keep an eye on announcements from SSS or UnionBank because once the application opens through the UnionBank Online app, demand will surely be high.
I’ll make sure to update you once the MySSS Card is officially available for members.
